Middleton Primary School:
(4-11 primary school)

Middleton Primary School was opened on its present site in the 1940s in Middleton, Leeds. The building is set within large, landscaped grounds with a spacious playing field and playground space.

The staff at Middleton Primary School strive to create a happy, caring school which will offer each child an education of the highest quality and where pupils, teachers, parents and the community work together in partnership. They offer each pupil an equal opportunity to develop to their full capability within a framework that encourages self-confidence and independence, social competence, positive moral values, creativity and an ever-widening base of knowledge, skills and understanding.

Middleton Primary School’s provision in the arts has been awarded Artsmark Silver status in recognition of the school’s commitment to, and excellence in, arts education. Artsmark is Arts Council England’s award recognising excellence in cultural education. It celebrates schools’ commitment to embracing arts across the curriculum and bringing creative learning to life for children and young people.

Middleton Primary School was inspected by Ofsted in November 2016. During the inspection, inspectors judged the school to be Good in all areas as they had previously done in 2011. They continue to be graded as Good following an Ofsted inspection in November 2022.

The school joined the Cockburn Multi-academy Trust in 2018 and became the first primary school in the trust.
