Staff Testimonials

"Joining the Cockburn MAT has developed me greatly. The 'Tranformation to Excellence' journey is shared by all - everyone is working towards improvement. This applies to ALL staff and students within a working environment that focuses on support and positivity. I have been coached and supported by experts. I am extremely proud to be part of the journey."
"The students are proud to come to school. They are supported and challenged by their teachers. No matter who you are, and where you are from, you are taught well. Supporting SEND learners is a partnership between teachers and teaching assistants. Ever since I started with the Cockburn MAT I have been well supported, trained and welcomed."
“As a first-year teacher, I have felt extremely supported by all staff. The relevant and often feedback on top of the freedom and independence from the ECT framework has given me the confidence and room to grow as a teacher both professionally and personally. It feels great to be part of a team that takes meaningful steps towards turning our philosophy and values into action!”
“I have really enjoyed my first 8 months at Cockburn School. I particularly love the sense of community that is apparent from the moment you walk in the door. Both the support and teaching staff are welcoming, approachable and friendly; you are both accepted as an individual, whilst serving as a valued member of a team.
In my role at Cockburn, no two days are the same, and the daily challenges faced are incredibly rewarding, contributing to improving the lives of young people, safeguarding their wellbeing, and ensuring they receive a high quality, excellent education. I am proud to be a member of staff at Cockburn MAT.”
“I joined Cockburn MAT in September 2019 as a Finance Assistant. I was allocated a mentor who supported me through my first year and is still someone that I can turn to for advice.
After spending a year as a Finance Assistant, I was offered the opportunity to progress and become a Senior Administrator in another MAT school. I was so pleased to be offered this role as I had discussed my future aspirations at my initial interview and my interviewer had taken note and thought of me when the role became available.
Working for the MAT means that there is plenty of opportunity to better oneself through the CPD that is on offer through various channels and also as roles become available throughout the MAT.”
